P&P went for a weekend trip to the Ozarks in Northern Arkansas. We stayed at his family cabin and went hiking and swimming and fishing. Beautiful clear lake and rock bottom river. We rented a boat on Friday and zipped all over the lake. It was so fun and relaxing. On Saturday night after a nice dinner we went walking on the rocky beaches by the lake. The air was lovely and the stars were magnificent. A firey orange moon rose over the trees across the lake. Mr. P presented a ring to make the commitment official. P&P are engaged!!!!

We met at grad school in NY where we both earned Masters and have since found full time jobs in Texas.

A wedding!!! February 14, 2008 Its a pretty funny story...

On a recent trip to IKEA P&P entered a contest to win a free wedding prize package in Houston. Sure, why not. We wrote a short essay about how we are currently in the process of buying a house and we'd love to go into it as husband and wife but we have no wedding plans. On January 31st, 2008 we were told that we were chosen as the winning (actually runner up but raised to winner) couple for the contest. That means we were getting married!!! SOON! This is very exciting and fun news. We were busily spreading the news and making final arrangements. The prize includes the location (actually IN the IKEA store restaurant), ceremony & reception with food, cake, flowers, dj, and photographer. Pretty much the wedding was planned, we just needed something to wear and a license from the courthouse. So thats our story and we are sticking to it. More info can be found in the links below.
